THE STORY
Meet Mary
I’m a dementia care specialist & digital content creator with over a decade of experience in dementia care.
When I first started working as an Occupational Therapist in a dementia care setting, I felt so isolated and alone. Back in 2012 (when I first started working), no one was really talking about dementia. I had to mostly rely on google searches to find and learn about dementia. From the little pieces of information I was consuming via google search, combined with years of continued practice of trying different approaches, hours of CEUs, I knew there had to be a better way!
As I practiced different approaches and strategies over the years, I was able to see what was helping individuals living with dementia and what wasn’t helping. Over the years, I educated staff and family members at various facilities in different states, helping to write memory care programs. Even with doing all of this, I knew I was meant to serve a bigger purpose in this world.
I opened up my company called Your Dementia Therapist in 2021 to teach dementia caregivers what I learned so they could better care for their loved ones with dementia.
When I started posting on social media, I started to receive daily messages about how big of a difference my information was making to both family and professional caregivers. Dedicated to my passion and mission to change as many lives as I could, I continued to create short videos, started to write digital programs and create digital products to help change even more lives!
